Hi my name is Lizzy.

I'm so glad you're here! I have been working, creating, and educating in the creative sphere for the past 10 years, and I'm thrilled for that creative world and the world of dōTERRA Essential Oils to join hands here on The Bee Squad! We're all about education and growing not only our understanding of these oils and how they can benefit our overall health and wellness, but also, how these beautiful oils can change our lives and the world.

Why doTERRA?

Why essential oils? Why now? I get asked these questions all the time!

For 10 years I designed fabric for the quilting industry, and if I'm being honest, I was feeling burnt out around year 4. It feels like there is a sort of track that you get put on. If you design fabric, then you design patterns, and if you design patterns, you teach classes. It's just how you make money as a designer in that industry.

In a lot of ways there is a cap on how much money you can make, no matter how much work you do. By the time I pulled the plug, I was feeling the burn. It wasn't sustainable.

I didn't fully realize it until after I was married! My partner was working a full time job and bringing home a salary. I was working longer hours than he was, and not making an income. If I wasn't on the road teaching I wasn't bringing in any money, and I felt a pull to be home, and put down some real roots.

From the outside looking in, it might not seem that way. I can't tell you how many people told me I was "living the dream".

I was not living the dream.

But while all of this was happening I was constantly leaning on my dōTERRA essential oils for physical and emotional support.

These oils kept me well when I was traveling nonstop. They kept me clear when I was working in front of a computer or sewing machine for 10+ hours.

My essential oils were giving me life when most of my work seemed to be taking it.

I was using the oils for years before I realized that I had an incredible opportunity to grow a sustainable business with dōTERRA, and to share the oils that were sustaining me!

Simply put I choose dōTERRA for who they are, what they stand for, their deep integrity, and for their life changing/giving essential oils. As a company they are science driven, they are humanitarians, philanthropists, and they are environmentalists, all of which are vital in the world we live in today. They are pro women, and pro family. They are the largest essential oil company in the world, and they are a debt free company which means they call all the shots. They also have created a business opportunity that links us together and offers the same beautiful and generous compensation to everyone no matter your age, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual identity. There truly is equal ground here. DōTERRA has the most beautiful and generous culture of inclusivity, health, abundance and service. It's everything I stand for and could ever dream of to share and grow.

Co-Impact Sourcing

This is one of my absolute favorite things about doTERRA besides the actual oils! While the temptation for a company as large as doTERRA may be to buy large plots of land and mass produce oils, doTERRA places great value on the expert knowledge of local farmers—many of whom have nurtured essential oil plants for generations. dōTERRA recruits their expertise into a Global Botanical Network and, in so doing, responsibly supports thousands of jobs around the world.

When doTERRA looks for sourcing partnerships, they deliberately choose locations where they can improve the individual, social, economic, and environmental well-being, while producing the highest quality essential oils.

As many of our essential oils grow best in developing countries, doTERRA is in a unique position to build and support ethical supply chains that benefit rural communities in need.

Oftentimes, experienced essential oil farmers, harvesters, growers, and distillers in underdeveloped areas are paid unfairly or taken advantage of, limiting their ability to escape poverty. Co-Impact Sourcing provides the tools needed to help lift these families and communities out of poverty and promote economic development. doTERRA adheres to additional Sourcing Guiding Principles when working in developing nations.

Certified pure therapeutic grade

You may not know this, but not all essential oils are created equally. In fact, some are down right dangerous. $7 Frankincense doesn't exist! That's not Frankincense! There is no regulative body over essential oils so dōTERRA created an internal standard, Certified Pure Therapeutic grade, or CPTG. Their oils are put through rigorous testing and third party testing and must meet these high standards to ever make it into your hands.

Learn more about dōTERRA's standards, and process at sourcetoyou.com. In fact! If you have a bottle of dōTERRA oil, you can enter the batch number from the bottle of the bottle into this website, and see the actual Quality Report on the oil in your hands.
